| 3 | Electric pump absorption checkDisconnect the negative battery leadDisconnect the petrol pump relay or the fuse.Reconnect the negative battery lead.Position the 10 Amp ammeter clamp for the Examiner equipment on the negative battery lead.Turn the key to the ON position and check the current absorbed by the ignition-operated electrical consumers (instrument panel only).Disconnect the negative battery cable.Reconnect the petrol pump relay or the fuse.Reconnect the negative battery lead.Position the ammeter clamp for the Examiner equipment on the negative battery lead.Turn the key to the ON position and check the current absorbed by the ignition-operated electrical consumers (instrument panel only) and by the electric pump.Calculate the current absorbed by the pump as the difference between that absorbed by all the consumers (instrument panel only) plus the pump and that by the consumers only (instrument panel only).The value should fluctuate between 2 and 5 A. | Replace the fuel supply pump Op. 1040A70 SUBMERGED PUMP ASSEMBLY COMPLETE WITH LEVEL GAUGE CONTROL - R + R |
