198001390 - 5510CI IGNITION COIL OPERATION CHECK

Check for a spark across the tips of spark gap SP-02 after making the appropriate connections via start-up transition or by means of active diagnosis in CONTROL UNIT TEST mode. In the case of start-up transition, the petrol/methane solenoids supply pump must be interrupted so as not to damage the Lambda sensor or catalytic convertor.
STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDREMEDIAL ACTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1IGNITION SIGNAL CHECK- Make sure that the ignition key is in the STOP position- Disconnect the negative battery terminal- Disconnect fuse F21 for the 15 A pump in the engine compartment fuse control unit- Remove the HV coil from its housing- Insert spark gap SP-02 n° 1,806,369,000 between the HV output of the single coil and the engine block earth as shown in the following diagram, using adaptor cable N° 3- Turn the key to the AVV position- Check that there is a spark between the probes of spark gap SP-02.- Repeat the same test on the other coils.- Use the test station to check for and delete any errors- Reset the single coil primary winding control circuit- Replace the coil    Op. 5510C14 IGNITION COIL/S - R.R. if the control signal on the coil primary winding is present- If the control signal is interrupted: restore the continuity of the wiring between the engine control unit and the coil.- If the control signal coming out of the control unit is interrupted, replace the engine management control unit
