Removing ( Refitting )     Op. 4450B12 FRONT WHEELS (TWO) - R+R
Before removing the front wheels, check that they are as parallel as possible to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.
    Op. 4410D17 REINFORCEMENT FOR FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER - R.R.    Op. 7055B65 ENGINE COMPARTMENT DUST COVER IN LEFT FRONT WHEEL ARCH - R.R.     Op. 7055B66 ENGINE COMPARTMENT DUST COVER IN RIGHT FRONT WHEEL ARCH - R.R.     Op. 7055B54 UNDER ENGINE PROTECTION/GUARD - R.R.     Op. 1008C32 GEARBOX LOWER REACTION ROD -R.R. 1. Undo bolt (1a) and disconnect steering column (1b) from the steering box pinion.
1. Undo the nuts securing the front exhaust silencer to the exhaust manifold with catalytic converter.- Disconnect and move the front exhaust silencer to one side.
1. Unscrew nut (1a) and use tool (1b) to disconnect steering rod (1c) from the strut.

- Repeat the same operation on the right side.
1. Undo the bolts fixing the steering box to the suspension crossmember.
1. Open the clips securing the gear selection and engagement cables to the steering box.
1. Position a hydraulic lift underneath the front suspension.2. Undo the bolts securing the front suspension crossmember to the body.- Lower the front suspension enough to remove the steering box.
- Remove the hydraulic lift. Refitting ( Removing ) - Position the steering box on the suspension crossmember and secure it, tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

- Set up the tool for removing/refitting the suspension crossmember as described below.1. Fit mount (1a) on column lift (1b).

3. Fit pins (3a), (3b), (3c) and (3d) onto frame (2a), as shown in the diagram.

- If the abovementioned hydraulic lift is not available, use a general hydraulic lift plus the adaptor shown in the drawing, which must be made up by the workshop to allow the use of the frames mentioned above.
(*): Adapt the shank diameter to fit the hydraulic lift used1. Support the suspension crossmember using the equipment prepared previously, taking care that the pins are positioned in the crossmember-body locating openings as illustrated.2. Tighten the bolts securing the suspension crossmember to the body and side panels to the specified torque.

- Remove the equipment used for refitting the suspension crossmember.- Connect the steering rods to the respective wheel struts and tighten the nuts to the specified torque.

- Close the clips securing the gear selector and engagement cables to the steering box.- Connect the nuts securing the front exhaust silencer to the exhaust manifold with catalytic converter, and tighten to the recommended torque.

- Connect the steering column to the steering box pinion and tighten the new bolt to the specified torque.
