2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the brackets (2b) working on both sides of the roof.
1. Working from inside the vehicle, undo the sliding roof fixing nuts.
- Protect the vehicle fittings using suitable cloths.1. Using a saw, cut the sliding roof panel along the line (1a), then remove the portion (1b) of the actual frame. This removal is necessary in order to be able to cut the sliding roof sealant (1c) later on.
Do not make damage the body underneath.
- The sliding roof sealant can be cut using a piano wire or vibrating knife; both methods are described below.- To cut using a piano wire, proceed as described below.1. Cut a length of piano wire of about 50 cm, then use pliers to introduce one end (1a) of the wire through the strip of sealant (1b) securing the sliding roof (1c).2. Fasten one end (1a) of the wire to the special retaining tool (2a) located inside the vehicle.Fasten one end (2b) of the wire to the traction handle (2c) located outside the vehicle.3. The mechanic inside the vehicle should keep the end of the tool (2a) on the bead of sealant (3a) about 30 cm from the point where the wire passes through. The other mechanic, outside the vehicle, should pull the handle (2c) following the surround of the sliding roof frame and then cut bead of sealant (3a).Repeat the operation in sections of about 30 cm until the bead of sealant (3a) is completely cut.
- To cut using a vibrating knife, proceed as described below.1. To cut the section of sealant (1a) using a vibrating knife a portion of the sliding roof frame must be cut and removed, similar to what was done previously for the front area (1b); however, the section of sealant (1a) can be cut using piano wire following the earlier instructions.2. Use the vibrating knife (2a) and blade (2b) and cut the sealant (2c) working from the outside of the vehicle and cutting sections (1a) and (2d) working from inside the vehicle.
1. After cutting all the sealant strip, remove the sun roof frame with the aid of a second operator.
When the sun roof has been removed it cannot be reused. If necessary, keep the parts that can be detached: see the relevant procedures.
Refitting ( Removing )
Fit the new sun roof complete with all its parts.
1. Using suitable equipment, cut and level the bead of sealant in the sun roof housing leaving a thickness of between 0.25 and 1 mm, taking care not to scratch the paintwork. The thickness of the sealant remaining in the housing will act as a support for the new bonding.2. Thoroughly clean the sun-roof housing using an air jet and degrease fully using heptane. When bonding, 60 minutes after the bead of sealant has been cut and levelled, the surface of the actual sealant must be treated using the special activating product and it is necessary to wait for 15 minutes before fitting the windscreen.

The refitting and adjustment of the tailgate are necessary to allow the sun roof to be correctly positioned later on.
1. Degrease the adhesive surface (1a) of the new sun roof using heptane.2. Apply glass adhesion promoter (primer) (2b) to the adhesion surface using the wick (2a) supplied in the kit.
Wait for about 15 minutes before continuing with the next operation to allow the adhesion promoter (primer) thinner to evaporate.
1. With the help of two mechanics with one of them inside the vehicle at the front, carry out a test fitting centering the studs (1a) for the sun roof in the openings (1b) in the bodyshell. If necessary, fit the centering pins (1c) in the sun roof seats (1d) to facilitate the centering of the sun roof when moving it close to the bodyshell.
1. When the sun roof has been centered, mark the position of the sun roof in relation to the housing using strips of adhesive tape.2. Cut the strips of adhesive tape and remove the sun roof.
1. Using an air gun, apply a bead of sealant (1a) and two inner strips (1b) as evenly as possible along the perimeter of the sun roof as evenly as possible.

Start the operation from the area (1c) at the back and continue without breaks along the entire perimeter of the sun roof.
1. Using two mechanics with one of them inside the vehicle following the instructions for the previous test fitting, place the sun roof in position straight after applying the sealant then let it bed in.
1. Position the suction pads (2a) and then the belts (1b) as illustrated, and tension them so that even pressure is exerted on the entire sun-roof to ensure that the matching between the sun roof (1c), sealant (1d) and sun roof housing (1e) is correct.
- Tighten the sun roof inner retaining nuts.- Position the brackets and tighten the bolts on both sides of the sun roof.    Op. 5570T27 AERIAL SUPPORT - R.R - Before refitting the vehicle interior and exterior elements, check that there are no infiltration points by carrying out a water leakage test.- Connect the electrical connections for the middle courtesy light.    Op. 7040H16 ROOF PANEL LINING FOR VERSIONS WITH SUN ROOF - R.R     Op. 7040A47 ODDMENTS POCKET UNDER DASHBOARD - R.R.    Op. 7040A65 CONSOLE SIDE CLOSING (ONE) - R.R.    Op. 7040L20 TUNNEL COVER - R.R     Op. 7040L70 TUNNEL COVER REAR TRIM - R.R.    Op. 7040L73 BOTTLE-HOLDER/ASHTRAY ON REAR TUNNEL TRIM - R.R.    Op. 7040L37 GEAR LEVER TRIM - R.R     Op. 7030B32 SLIDING ROOF DECORATIVE SEAL(1) FRONT OR REAR - R R     Op. 7065C30 GRAB HANDLE (ONE) LEFT, RIGHT OR CENTRE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT INTERIOR - R.R     Op. 7065C34 SUN BLIND (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R.     Op. 7040E10 FRONT COURTESY LIGHT - R+R     Op. 7030B64 SUN ROOF CONTROL SWITCH - R+R     Op. 7040E12 CENTRE COURTESY LIGHT - R+R    Op. 7040H67 RIGHT REAR SIDE TRIM, WITH REAR PARCEL SHELF SUPPORT - R.R .     Op. 7040H66 LEFT REAR SIDE TRIM, WITH REAR PARCEL SHELF SUPPORT - R.R .     Op. 7040G30 BOOT LIGHT BULB HOLDER - R.R.    Op. 7040H80 REAR PARCEL SHELF - R.R.     Op. 7040H38 CENTRE PILLAR UPPER ELEMENT (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R     Op. 7040H30 FRONT PILLAR TRIM (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R.
