198003577 - E3090 PARKING SENSOR - DESCRIPTION (Front/rear parking sensors)
DESCRIPTION
The "Parking Assistance" system supplies the driver with information on distance when approaching obstacles (both behind and in front of the vehicle) thereby providing help with parking manoeuvres and identifying obstacles that are outside the field of vision. The de-luxe version has four rear sensors and four front sensors and is helpful not only when the vehicle is getting to close to obstacles at the rear but also obstacles in front of it.The driver is notified of the presence and distance of the obstacle from the vehicle by an acoustic signal which varies depending on the distance from the obstacle (as the distance from the obstacle decreases the frequency of the acoustic signal increases). The system is activated if the following conditions are present simultaneously:- key ON- reverse gear engaged (with the speed below 15km/h)- activation button - located in the control panel in the middle of the dashboard, right side - pressed (with the speed below 15 km/h).When the system is activated the buzzer warns of this condition and the LED next to the button is lit up.The system is deactivated:- by pressing the button again;- by disengaging reverse gear and when the vehicle speed is above 18 km/h.The LED goes out when the system is deactivated. The distance measurement only takes place when the system is activated, whilst only the control unit is operational in the inactive state. |
If there is a trailer, rear obstacles are not signalled thanks to a dedicated connection between the control unit and a socket in the tow hook. |
