198003578 - E3090 PARKING SENSOR - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION (Front/rear parking sensors)
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The parking sensor control unit M84 receives a supply at pin 1 of connector A from the ignition-controlled INT line protected by fuse F51 of junction unit B2; pin 7 of connector A is earthed. The control unit is connected, via pins 6 and 12 of connector A and the CAN, to all the other nodes in the same network, for example receiving the information that reverse gear is engaged. The commands for the display are sent to the instrument panel via the CAN.The signal from the activation/deactivation button, located in the control panel in the middle of the dashboard, left side H90A, reaches pin 8 of connector A; a positive signal is sent from pin 3 of connector A lighting up the LED next to the button. The four rear parking sensors K97 are connected to connector B of the control unit M84: pin 8 provides the reference earth, pin 4 the power supply, pins 1, 2, 3 and 5 are connected to sensors K97E, K97F, K97G and K97H, respectively. The rear buzzer P44B is connected to pins 2 and 5 of connector A of M84.The four front parking sensors K97 are connected to connector C of the control unit M84: pin 8 provides the reference earth, pin 1 the power supply, pins 11, 10, 5 and 4 are connected to sensors K97A, K97B, K97C and K97D, respectively. The front buzzer P44A is connected to pins 1 and 14 of connector C.If there is a trailer, rear obstacles are not signalled thanks to a dedicated connection between the control unit - pin 6 of connector B of control unit M84 - and a socket in the tow hook: this connection is made in the aftermarket when the tow hook is fitted. |
