The handbrake lever is released
The handbrake warning light also indicates a low brake fluid level and, if it is on at the same time as the ABS warning light, a malfunction of the EBD system. The command to switchon the handbrake warning light is sent by the switch on the lever to the Body Computer Node which makes it available on the B-CAN to the Instrument Panel Node.
