Removing ( Refitting )

It is not possible to order key lock barrels on their own or to order lock barrels with the part code only. To order lock barrels, follow the procedure given in 5580E - Special Accessories.

    Op. 7040A26 STEERING COLUMN TRIM - R+R 1. Insert the ignition key into the lock barrel and turn to MAR.2. Use a screwdriver to push in the retaining tooth.3. Slide out the lock barrel. 1. Remove the retaining ring in the rear part of the switch lock barrel. 1. Press lever (1a) to engage the parking lights and turn the key to allow pin (1b) to position itself in the slot. 1. Partly extract the key from the barrel to allow lock (1a) to lower and pass through the slot, then remove lock barrel (1b). Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Insert the key in the barrel to the end of its travel. Partly remove the key from the barrel to allow lock (1a) to lower and insert the lock barrel with key in seat (1b). - Fit the o-ring in the rear part of the switch lock barrel.- Turn the ignition key to MAR.- Fit the barrel in the ignition switch and fit the retaining tooth in the seat.- Test the operation of the barrel (electrical system and steering lock).- Extract the ignition key.    Op. 7040A26 STEERING COLUMN TRIM - R+R
