Removing ( Refitting ) - This procedure illustrates the refitting of the plate which, if fastened correctly, cannot be detached from the glass.

Do not try and detach the plate from the glass because this could damage the glass.

Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Remove any residues of adhesive from the plate.2. Thoroughly degrease the mating surface of the plate and the glass using disposable paper and heptane.3. Remove any residues of adhesive from the windscreen.4. Thoroughly degrease the mating surface of the glass and the pate using disposable paper and heptane.5. Apply a suitable length of double-sided tape to the plate (3M 4265, FASSON 450/460, DUPLOMONT 910 F LOHMANN).6. Heat the plate to a temperature of 40-50 °C and place it on the windscreen then exert a pressure of around 5 Kg/cm2 on it; wait until the ambient temperature cools the plate down.

The rear view mirror should not be subjected to stress for the next 24 hours so that the adhesion is not adeversely affected.
