There is a pedal unit on the vehicle, separated from the power unit and consisting of a plastic mounting with the clutch and accelerator pedals also made from plastic. The brake pedal is made of steel. The solution adopted has made it possible to fit a brake servo oversized by 10" and achieve a significant reduction in weight.The arrangement of the pedals has been made more user-friendly taking into consideration heel angle parameters and the position of and space between the pedals.The accelerator pedal incorporates two potentiometers, a main one and a safety one, which transmit the extent of the movement of the actual pedal to the control unit. This implements the consequent throttle opening.The pedal assembly has a device that allows the pedals to collapse in the event of an impact, keeping intrusion into the passenger compartment, and consequently any injuries to the lower limbs, to a minimum.The pedal assembly has the following advantages:- low braking distances with low loads on the pedal and reduced response times even in emergency situations;- responsive and gradual braking action;- braking efficiency at top levels for the segment.
