198002874 - 4410OA CHECKS ON CORRECT TIGHTENINGS FOR FRONT SUSPENSION

Position the vehicle on a two column lift.

If the area where the noise is coming from has been identified, firstly check the fastenings in that area, otherwise follow the order indicated.

Using a torque wrench set to the recommended value, check that the shock absorber stem fastening to end stop plate dome (1) is tightened to the recommended torque.

Raise the vehicle and check that the front suspension is correctly tightened.Using a torque wrench set to the recommended value, check that the fastenings securing shock absorber bracket (2) to the strut are tightened to the recommended torque.

Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fastening between steering box and crossmember (3) is tightened to the specified torque.

Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fastening between the steering rod and strut (4) is tightened to the recommended torque.

Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fastenings securing the anti-roll bar to crossmember (5) are tightened to the recommended torque.

Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fastenings securing the connecting rod to shock absorber (6a) and anti-roll bar (6b) are tightened to the torque given below.

Visually check that the yield bolts securing wishbone front bush (7a) and wishbone rear bush (7b) have not become loose.

Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fastenings securing the wishbone ball joint to wheel strut (8) are tightened to the torque given below.

Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fastenings securing the crossmember brackets to body side member (9a) and the rear fastenings securing the crossmember to body side member (9b) are tightened to the torque given below.

Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the bolt securing the band to crossmember (10) is tightened to the torque given below.
