198003088 - 5040A58 PIPE FROM EXPANSION VALVE TO COMPRESSOR - R+R

Removing ( Refitting )
Follow the recommended safety instructions (see 5040 - Introduction).
- Drain the coolant.    Op. 0010T84 COOLANT FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - DEHYDRATE AND REPRESSURIZE 1. Working on the compressor, undo the bolt (1a) and disconnect the fitting (1b) on the pipe from the expansion valve to the compressor.
Seal the connectors that have been disconnected using suitable plugs to prevent dampness and impurities from entering the system.
1. Undo the nut (1a) and disconnect the connector (1b) from the expansion valve (1c).2. Remove the pipe from the expansion valve to the compressor after having disconnected it from the retaining band on the bodyshell.
Refitting ( Removing ) - Check that the pipe from the expansion valve to the compressor is undamaged and is not affected by cracks that affect the seal.
Replace the O-rings on the connectors. Only use green coloured seals that are resistant to R134a coolant. Lubricate the connector threads using anti-freeze.
1. Place the pipe from the expansion valve to the compressor in position and secure it to the bodyshell using the retaining band.2. Connect the fitting (2a) to the expansion valve and tighten the nut (2b) to the specified torque.
