Removing ( Refitting )
Before removing and refitting the Air Bag module the following preliminary operations must be carried out.- Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and extract it.- Disconnect the battery leads and insulate them.- Wait for 10 minutes before continuing.
FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS    Op. 5580C AIR BAG SYSTEM
1. Working at the back of the front seat, open the zip fastening (1a) along the entire section (1b).2. Disconnect the lower outer end (2a) of the backrest cover.
1. Move the cover (1a) and undo the nuts (1b) fixing the Side Bag module.2. Disconnect the earth lead from the threaded pin.
1. Working from outside the seat, move the Air Bag module.2. Detach the electrical connection.

3. Keep the Air Bag module.
Place the Air Bag module in the special cupboard resting it on a free surface with the bag facing upwards.
Refitting ( Removing ) - Observe the following precaution.
Handle the Air Bag module very carefully. Make sure that the battery is disconnected.
- If a new module is being fitted, position the labels as described below.- Remove the detachable part of the adhesive label from the new module. Place a copy of the label in a special folder containing the vehicle details (model, registration date, chassis number) and the serial number of the old module. The file should be kept for future checks.- Fit the detachable part of the original label on the lower part of the seat, where similar labels for the seat, the backrest cover and the Air Bag wiring can already be found. Beforehand, however, it should be perforated at the month and 14 years after the year in which the module is being fitted (e.g. 2007 for 2021).- Position the Air Bag module and connect the electrical connection.- Place the Air Bag module in its housing.- Connect the earth lead to the threaded pin.- Tighten the nuts fixing the Air Bag module.
