	Carry out various tailgate closure/opening manoeuvres and ensure tailgate movements are uniform and centred.	Move on to Step 2	Closure is difficult (the tailgate must be slammed shut).	Adjust the striker.
2	CHECK WITH TAILGATE CLOSED	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	With the tailgate closed, carry out a visual check of the fit. Check it is uniform and aligned with the roof and also the tail-lights.	Move on to Step 3	When closed, the tailgate is shifted to the left.	Loosen the striker, check the cause of the shift and adjust the striker
3	CHECK WITH TAILGATE OPEN	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Carry out various catch closure/opening manoeuvres by hand.	End of diagnosis	An occasional malfunction is detected in the catch.	Replace the tailgate lock
