198002864 - 1060GH DIESEL PRESSURE CHECK

STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDREMEDIAL ACTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1With the engine idling and warm, with all users off and the accelerator pedal not operated, the target Diesel Pressure and the measured Diesel Pressure must be in a range between 200 and 500 barsMove on to Step 3
2When the accelerator pedal is pumped several times, the measured Diesel Pressure must be in a range between 200 and 1500 bar. The test can be considered over.Move on to Step 3
3Sensor supply check. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.Disconnect the cable loom connector from the fuel pressure sensor.    See K083 FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between sensor Pin 3    See K083 FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR and earth. Ensure that it is in a range between 4.8 and 5.2 V.Move on to Step 4Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the pressure sensor    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT - If the wiring is okay and the voltage signal is interrupted at the control unit outlet, replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
4Sensor power supply checkMeasure the voltage between sensor Pins 1 and 3    See K083 FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR Ensure that it is in a range of between 4.8 and 5.2 V.Move on to Step 5Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the pressure sensor    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT - If the wiring is okay and the voltage signal is interrupted at the control unit outlet, replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
5Voltage signal checkMeasure the voltage between sensor Pin 2    See K083 FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR and earth. Ensure that it is in a range between 4.8 and 5.2 V. Move on to Step 6Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the pressure sensor    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT - If the wiring is okay and the voltage signal is interrupted at the control unit outlet, replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
6Pressure signal check- Connect the connect to the sensor- Connect the voltmeter between pin 2 and earth- Start the engine- Check that there is a voltage of between 1.3 and 1.5 Volt with the engine idlingReplace the pressure sensor    Op. 1060G28 FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR ON FUEL MANIFOLD TO INJECTORS - R.R and check the fault has disappearedReplace the pressure sensor    Op. 1060G28 FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR ON FUEL MANIFOLD TO INJECTORS - R.R and check the fault has disappeared
