198000404 - E3020 WINDSCREEN WASH/WIPE - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The electronic device inside the steering column switch unit H5 and the controls on the right lever receive a power supply at pin 11 of connector A from the ignition-controlled line (INT/A) of relay T12 protected by fuse F43, both housed in the junction unit under the dashboard B2. Pin 7 of connector A of H5 is earthed.According to the function selected, stalk unit H5 (connector A) sends the following control signals to the wiper motor N15:
- from pin 8 for fast operation;
- from pin 9 for slow and/or intermittent operation (for intermittent operation the signal reaches the intermittent device and from there is sent to the control device and the motor);
- pin 6, on the other hand, receives the earth signal coming from the motor end of travel cam which stops operation.
The windscreen wiper motor N15 is then earthed.The steering column switch unit H5 windscreen washer switch, once activated, sends two signals from pins 10 and 12 of connector A which operate the windscreen washer pump N22 directly.The Body Computer M1 receives a direct supply from the battery via the line protected by maxifuse B99 at pin 18 of connector F of the interface with the junction unit under the dashboard B2; the ignition-controlled supply (INT) reaches pin 9 of connector F of the interface with the junction unit B2.The rain sensor K85 receives a supply from the INT line protected by fuse F49 of the junction unit B2 and sends the automatic operating signal to pin 2 of connector A of H5 via the A-BUS serial line of the Body Computer M1 pin 7 of connector D and pin 34 of connector B.The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the failure signal if there are problems with the rain sensor: , the signal: a special "lights failure" warning light comes on and, at the same time, the information is shown in the display.
