Removing ( Refitting )     Op. 4450B12 FRONT WHEELS (TWO) - R+R 1. Undo the bolts securing the shock absorber to the steering knuckle.2. Undo the nut (2a) and disconnect the anti-roll bar joint (2b) from the shock absorber.
    Op. 7210E22 R.R. WINDSCREEN BASE TRIM 1. Undo the nut (1a) and the mounting (1b) and remove the shock absorber and spring assembly (1c).
Before undoing the nut (1a), insert the spanner correctly right into the hexagonal groove at the top of the shock absorber stem.
1. Fit the shock absorber-spring assembly (1a) on the special tool (1b).

2. Undo the nut (2a) and remove the buffer (2b).
- Discharge the spring and remove the shock absorber-spring assembly from the tool.1. Remove the dust cover (1a), the spring (1b) and the end of travel buffer (1c) for the shock absorber (1d).
Refitting ( Removing ) - Assemble the end of travel buffer, the spring and the dust cover on the shock absorber.- Compress the shock absorber and the spring using the tool.

- Tighten the nut securing the end of travel buffer to the shock absorber to the recommended torque.

- Remove the shock absorber assembly from the tool.

- Place the shock absorber assembly in its housing.- Provisionally screw in the nut securing the shock absorber to the bodyshell without tightening it.- Connect the anti-roll bar joint to the shock absorber and tighten the nut to the recommended torque.

- Tighten the new bolts fixing the shock absorber to the steering knuckle to the recommended torque.
To tighten to torque, position the torque wrench on the nut and not on the bolt.
