199002614 - L016 CLIMATE CONTROL RECIRCULATION NOT WORKING

The recirculation function does not work when the special button in the switch panel is pressed.
Test results
1CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATION OF CLIMATE CONTROL NODEAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
When the vehicle engine is running, set the climate control system ECU to AUTO, operate the temperature knob to 22°C, set the fan speed to 8 bars and then press the recirculation key (check that the recirculation symbol appears on the display). Then feel the changes in air flow during flap open/closure. Also locate the grille in the engine compartment for the air intake casing and check the air intake when switching from recirculation to outside air intake.
When the control unit is set to the FULL AUTO function and the outside temperature is below 3°C the air intake flap opens automatically to prevent the windscreen from misting up
Move on to Step 21. The recirculation symbol does not appear on the display2. The recirculation symbol appears on the display (but the recirculation does not operate)1. Move on to Step 32. Move on to Step 2
2CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment and check:- that there are no errors at the air recirculation actuatorMove on to Step 6Errors in the recirculation actuator.Move on to Step 3
3CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Keeping the Examiner diagnostic equipment connected, check, through active diagnosis,- the correct operation of the air recirculation actuator- correct activation of all the graphic LCD symbols on the displayMove on to Step 61. Air recirculation actuator not working2. The recirculation symbol does not come on1.Move on to Step 42.Replace the climate control system control unit    Op. 5040D14 CONTROL UNIT WITH AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL PANEL - R.R.
4CHECK ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONSAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check whether the electrical wiring connections are loose.Remove the control unit from the panel mount, disconnect the wiring connector from the control unit and check visually for any damage to the connector and reconnect correctly to check for false contacts.Remove the oddments pocket and disconnect the connector, inspecting visually for any damage to it and reconnect the electrical connector to the actuatorMove on to Step 51. Electrical wiring connections loose or damagedRenew the correct electrical connections
5CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATIONAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Then proceed as follows: with the engine running, switch on the recirculation air intake function manually with the fan at the maximum speed. If the actuator works and the flap is driven, check whether the air flow rate varies during the movement by feeling it. Deactivate the function by returning the actuator to its original condition. Identify the air intake casing grille on the vehicle and check the air intake in the shift from recirculation to outside air and the other way round by feeling with your hand.If the result of the check is positive, do not replace the actuator. If there are further doubts as to the operation of the actuator, it is possible to carry out the check following the instructions described below if the air intake casing is easily accessible.    See Test 5040DE SEQUENTIAL PROCEDURE FOR CHECKING RECIRCULATION ACTUATOR OPERATIONMove on to Step 6Incorrect operation of recirculation actuatorReplace the recirculation actuator    Op. 5040D75 AIR CONDITIONING RECIRCULATION FLAP CONTROL MOTOR - R.R
6RECIRCULATION FLAP TRAVEL CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Visually inspect that the air recirculation flap completes its travel without any hinderanceEnd of diagnosis1. Flap travel incomplete2. Kinematic components/toothed wheels damaged1. Free the air recirculation actuator flap from the impediment2. Restore the correct operation of the recirculation kinematic components
