199002321 - 0010T20 ENGINE COOLANT - CHANGE

DRAINING THE SYSTEM- With the engine cold, undo the expansion reservoir cap.- Position a suitable container for collecting the coolant.- Open the drain tap located in the lower left part of the radiator.- Open the bleed screw on the upper part of the radiator, right side. FILLING THE SYSTEM- Close the drain tap and keep the bleed screw open.- Fill the circuit with the specified fluid through the expansion reservoir filler fitting until fluid emerges through the bleed screw.

- Close the bleed screw.- Top up the fluid again until the tank level is up to the MAX mark.- Fit and tighten the expansion tank cap fully.- Start up the engine and let it idle for about 2 minutes.- Remove the air from the circuit by pumping the accelerator regularly and gradually (every 30 secs) up to a speed of around 3000 rpm. This operation should be carried out until the thermostat opens and the fan switches on and off at least 3 times. During this operation keep the climate control system switched off to prevent the fan from coming on for reasons unconnected to the heating of the coolant. If there is a noticeable drop in the level in the tank below the MIN reference during this stage, let the engine idle and open the cap very carefully, topping up the fluid to the MAX level, then close the cap fully and remove all the air from the system.- Then switch off the engine and leave it to cool down.- If necessary, top up with the specified fluid to the MAX notch.- At the end of the above operations, make sure that the amount of fluid introduced into the system is at least equal to the amount collected during the draining stage.
