199001687 - B008 ENGINE DOES NOT START OR STARTS AFTER A FEW MINUTES (WITH GEARBOX STUCK) (Robotized gearbox)

It stays locked in one gear and when the vehicle comes to a halt the engine stops and will not restart, or will restart only after several minutes.
Preliminary check: If during engine start up the starter motor seems to be working normally, the problem is caused by other systems (check engine, A.B.S. fuel pump...). Refer to specific sheets. If the starter motor does not turn (after having checked correct operation and the relevant power supply electrical circuit), carry on with the following diagnosis sheet.
Test results
1ERRORS IN AUTOMATED GEARBOX CONTROL UNIT CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check that there are no errors in the automated gearbox control unit. More specifically:- Clutch sensor error- Clutch solenoid current error- Pump relay error- Load relay error- Automated Gearbox electric pump errorMove on to Step 4One or more errors on the list are presentMove on to Step 2
2CHECKS ON FAULTS ENCOUNTEREDAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check the faults, carrying out    See Test 2127OI WHAT TO DO DEPENDING ON THE ERROR PRESENT IN THE ROBOTIZED GEARBOX CONTROL UNITEnd of diagnosisFaults at the connections (Clutch sensor, Pump relay, Load relay and/or Automated Gearbox Electric Pump)Restore/replace the wiring    See E7051 ROBOTIZED GEARBOX
The active diagnosis is inconclusive and no wiring errors are detected (Clutch solenoid)Move on to Step 3
Fuse and/or electric pump relay fault (Automated Gearbox electric pump)Replace the component    See E7051 ROBOTIZED GEARBOX and move on to Step 4
Electric pump winding faults (Automated Gearbox Electric Pump)Replace the component    Op. 2127C30 HYDRAULIC SPEED SELECTION SYSTEM PUMP - R.R.
3AFTER THE ACTIVE DIAGNOSIS ON THE SOLENOIDSAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
If this step has been reached during the active diagnosis of the clutch solenoid, replace it    Op. 2127C56 CLUTCH CONTROL SOLENOID - R.R. and check it is working correctly by carrying out a gear change.Move on to Step 4
4FLUID LEVEL CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check the fluid level, carrying out    See Test 2127OB FLUID LEVEL CHECKMove on to Step 6Level lower than Max markTop up and move on to Step 5
Level above Max markBring to Max level and move on to step 6
5FLUID LEAKS CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check there are no leaks, carrying out    See Test 2127OC FLUID LEAKS CHECKMove on to Step 6Fluid leaks detectedRepair/replace the parts involved, top up the fluid and move on to step 6
6FLUID PRESSURE CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check the fluid pressure, carrying out    See Test 2127OD FLUID PRESSURE CHECKMove on to Step 9Pressure < 40 barMove on to Step 7
7PRESSURE SENSOR CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check that the sensor is working properly, carrying out    See Test Move on to Step 8Pressure sensor not workingReplace the sensor    Op. 2127E50 HYDRAULIC SELECTION GEARBOX CIRCUIT PRESSURE SENSOR - R.R.
8ELECTRIC PUMP OPERATION CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check that the electric pump is working properly by carrying out    See Test 2127OE ELECTRIC PUMP OPERATION CHECKMove on to Step 9Voltage less than 11 VRestore correct battery voltage.
It is not possible to shift gears using the leverActivate the "bleed clutch" function from Examiner Plus or Smart to activate the electric pump
9CLUTCH SENSOR WIRING LAYOUT CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check the condition of the connections, the continuity of the wiring (it is important to pay particular attention to the clutch position sensor wiring layout in the engine compartment: the cable should not be too tight, it must have sufficient clearance)Move on to Step 10A fault is detected.Restore/replace the part that is not working.
10CHECK THAT THE FAULT IS NO LONGER PRESENTAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check that the fault is no longer presentEnd of diagnosisThe fault persists.Contact technical service for further information on the problem
