199002898 - B0103 1st lev. driver's Airbag resist.

To apply this procedure, the following must be borne in mind:1 - Measurements cannot be taken on the Air Bag wiring.2 - The system fault diagnosis is started leaving the vehicle charges connected.3- The fault should be "Present" or "Present Intermittently" and not "Intermittent". If the fault is Intermittent then the Procedure is not applicable; proceed with an accurate check on the line where the fault was signalled.4 - Not all the simulation sensors are available (e.g. side impact sensors).
The airbag fault warning light is controlled by a dedicated connection to the airbag control unit Instrument Panel Node.
The Air Bag wiring is a safety component. If there are problems with the cables or the connectors then the wiring should be replaced in one piece.

1ELECTRICAL CONNECTION CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. Check that the connector at the control unit is correctly connected and there are no faulty connections at the intermediate coupling    See E7030 AIRBAG Move on to Step 2One or more connectors is not correctly connectedReconnect the connector correctly    See E7030 AIRBAG Delete the errors using the diagnostic equipment and move on to Step 5
2CHECK CLOCK SPRING CONTACTAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Disconnect the airbag wiring clock spring contact and connect a dummy resistance in its place.Turn the ignition key to the ON position and activate the dialogue with the diagnostic equipment. Check that the fault relating to the driver''s front Air Bag has become intermittentMove on to Step 3The fault is still PresentTurn the ignition key OFF.Replace the facia wiring    Op. 5505C30 BUILT-IN WIRING UNDER DASHBOARD - R.R. WITH DASHBOARD TRIM REMOVEDDelete the errors using the diagnostic equipment and move on to Step 5
3CHECK DRIVER''S SIDE AIRBAGAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Turn the ignition key OFF. Reconnect the clock spring to the air bag wiring. Disconnect the charge from the steering wheel and connect the simulation resistance in its place.Turn the ignition ON and activate the dialogue.Check whether the fault in the front driver''s side airbag has become IntermittentMove on to Step 4The fault has become PresentTurn the ignition key OFF.Replace the clock spring    Op. 5580C12 CLOCK SPRING FOR AIR BAG MODULE ON STEERING WHEEL - R.R Delete the errors using the diagnostic equipment and move on to Step 5
