1Turn the ignition ON and check the fan is off.Move on to Step 4
2Turn the ignition key ON.On the diagnostic tester, select active diagnosis level 1 fan relay control and check it is successful.Move on to Step 13
3On the diagnostic tester, select active diagnosis level 2 fan relay control and check it is successful.Move on to Step 27
4On the diagnostic tester, select active diagnosis high level fan relay control and check it is successful.The test can be considered overMove on to Step 40
5Turn the ignition key OFF.In the engine compartment junction unit, remove relay T2 (in the top left of the four in the middle)Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between Pin 87 of the relay base unit and Earth, ensuring it is less than 0.3 V.Move on to Step 11.Move on to Step 6
6Turn the ignition key OFF.In the engine compartment junction unit, remove relay T20 (in the bottom right of the four in the middle)Connect a test bulb (3W) between Pins 85 and 86 of the relay base unit and check it does not come on.Move on to Step 8Move on to Step 7

9Measure the voltage between Pin 87 of relay T2 base unit and Earth, ensuring it is less than 0.3 V.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine fan motor and the engine compartment junction unit    See E5020 ENGINE COOLING
10If faults are present, repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the engine compartment junction unit.    See E5020 ENGINE COOLING The test can be considered overReplace relay T20
11Turn the ignition key OFF.Connect a test bulb (3W) between Pins 85 and 86 of relay T1 base unit (bottom left of the four in the middle) and check it does not come on.Move on to Step 7
