199003057 - 1060GR CHECK OPERATION OF FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR ON RAIL

STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
With the engine idling and warm, with all the appliances off and the accelerator pedal not operated, the pressure regulator opening (MPROP) must be less than 45%.The test can be considered overMove on to Step 2
Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the fuel pressure regulator.Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between regulator Pin 2 (wiring side)and Earth, checking it is greater than 11 V    See N077 FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR Move on to Step 14Move on to Step 3
Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from engine control unit connector BTurn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage across control unit sensor Pin 5 (wiring side)    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth, checking it is less than 11 V.Move on to Step 5Move on to Step 4
If faults are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the pressure regulator    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered overReplace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
In the engine compartment junction unit, remove fuse F59 (second from the left on the second row from the bottom) from the base unit and check it has not blown.Move on to Step 12Move on to Step 6
Fit a new fuse F59 and check it does not blow.Move on to Step 8Move on to Step 7
If faults are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the EGR valve.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered overReplace the EGR valve    Op. 1080C24 E.G.R. SYSTEM SOLENOID - R + R
Turn the ignition key OFF.Connect a shunt cable with fuse across pin 80 (wiring side) of control unit connector A    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the earth.Connect a shunt cable with fuse across pin 15 (wiring side) of control unit connector B    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the earth.Check that fuse F59 does not cut inReplace the EGR valve    Op. 1080C24 E.G.R. SYSTEM SOLENOID - R + R
Disconnect the shunt connection.Measure the resistance across pin 4 (wiring side) of control unit connector B    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth, checking it is greater than 500 kOhmsRepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the pressure regulator    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
Reconnect the wiring harness connector to the engine control unitTurn the ignition key ON.Check that fuse F59 does not cut inReplace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
Replace the fuel pressure regulatorOp. 1060E50 The test can be considered over
Measure the voltage between fuse F59 input contact and earth, checking it is greater than 11 VMove on to Step 14Restore the correct electrical connections in the engine compartment junction unit or replace if necessary    Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R.
Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine compartment junction unit and the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered over
Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from engine control unit connector BTurn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage across control unit sensor Pin 34 (wiring side)    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth, checking it is less than 0.3 VRepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the pressure regulator    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
Turn the ignition key OFF.Measure the resistance across control unit sensor Pin 34 (wiring side)    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth, checking it is greater than 500 kOhmsRepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the pressure regulator    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
Measure the voltage across regulator Pin 2    See N077 FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR and control unit Pin 34 (wiring side)    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU checking that it is less than 5 Ohm.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the pressure regulator    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
