199000989 - 1068AC ACCELERATOR PEDAL CHECKS

CHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
Turn the ignition key ON.With the engine off, all appliances off and the accelerator pedal not operated, the position of accelerator pedal 1 AD/C must be between 0.9 and 1.1 V.Under the same conditions, the position of accelerator pedal 2 AD/C must be between 0.4 and 0.6 VMove on to Step 4
With the accelerator pedal slightly operated, the value of accelerator pedal postion 1 AD/C must be greater than 1 V and accelerator pedal position 2 AD/C greater than 0.5 VMove on to Step 4
With the accelerator pedal operated to the maximum extent, accelerator pedal position 1 AD/C must be between 3.6 and 4.3 V.Under the same conditions, the position of accelerator pedal 2 AD/C must be between 1.8 and 2.2 VThe test can be considered overMove on to Step 4
Turn the ignition key OFF. Turn off all the electrical users.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the accelerator pedal potentiometer    See K055 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POTENTIOMETER Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between Pin 2 (wiring side) of the potentiometer wiring side connector and Earth, checking it is within the range between 4.8 and 5.2 V.    See K055 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POTENTIOMETER Move on to Step 6Move on to Step 5
If faults are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the accelerator pedal potentiometer.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered overReplace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
Measure the voltage between Pins 2 and 4 (wiring side) of the potentiometer to ensure they are in the range between 4.8 and 5.2 V    See K055 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POTENTIOMETER Move on to Step 5
Check that accelerator pedal position 1 AD/C is less than 0.3 VMove on to Step 5
Connect a cable upstream with a fuse between pins 2 and 3 of the potentiometer    See K055 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POTENTIOMETER Turn the ignition key ON.Check that accelerator pedal position 1 AD/C is between 4.8 and 5.2VMove on to Step 5
Disconnect the shunt connection.Measure the voltage between Pin 1 (wiring side) of the potentiometer and Earth, ensuring it is in a range between 4.8 and 5.2 V.    See K055 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POTENTIOMETER Move on to Step 5
Measure the voltage between Pins 1 and 5 (wiring side) of the potentiometer to ensure they are in the range between 4.8 and 5.2 V    See K055 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POTENTIOMETER Move on to Step 5
Check that accelerator pedal position 2 AD/C is less than 0.3 VMove on to Step 5
Turn the ignition key OFF.Connect a shunt lead with a fuse between pins 1 and 6 of the potentiometer    See K055 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POTENTIOMETER Turn the ignition key ON.Check that accelerator pedal position 2 AD/C is between 2.3 and 2.7VMove on to Step 5
Replace the accelerator pedal    Op. 1068A20 ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH BUILT-IN POTENTIOMETER - R.R
