199002711 - 5530BB BATTERY VOLTAGE CHECK

STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDREMEDIAL ACTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Turn the ignition ON. With the engine switched off and all the consumers switched off, the battery voltage should be between 11 and 13.5 V.Move on to Step 4
2Turn the ignition key to the STARTING position and check that the battery voltage is more than 8 VMove on to Step 4
3With the engine idling and warmed up, with all the consumers switched off, the battery voltage should be between 12 and 15 V.The test can be considered overMove on to Step 4
4Start the engine and let the engine speed reach 3000 rpm.Measure the voltage between the positive battery pole    See A001 BATTERY and the earth, checking that it is in a range between 13 and 15 VReplace the alternator [PR_5530A10]
5Turn the ignition ON and switch off all the consumers.Turn the ignition OFF. Disconnect cable loom connector B from the engine management control unitTurn the ignition key to MAR.Connect a (10 W) test lamp and a multimeter in parallel and measure the voltage between pin 50 (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the Earth, checking it is greater than 11 VThere is a high transition resistance between the engine management control unit and the battery: clean or, if necessary, replace the wiring    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
6Connect a (10 W) test lamp and a multimeter in parallel and measure the voltage between pins 1, 2 and 3 (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the battery positive, checking it is greater than 11 VThere is a high transition resistance between the engine management control unit and the battery: clean or, if necessary, replace the wiring    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
7Replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
