STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the accelerator pedal potentiometerTurn the ignition key ON.Select the following system on the diagnostic equipment: Marelli Diesel Injection 6F3 EOBD CAN (EP engine 1.3 JTD).Check that error PO697 is "Present"Replace the accelerator pedal    Op. 1068A20 ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH BUILT-IN POTENTIOMETER - R.R
2Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the cable loom connector from the engine management control unit connector A.Turn the ignition key ON.Check that the resistance across pin 32 (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the earth is greater than 0.3 V.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the accelerator pedal potentiometer and the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
3Check that the resistance across pin 15 (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the earth is greater than 0.3 V.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the accelerator pedal potentiometer and the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
4Turn the ignition key OFF.Check that the resistance between pin 15 (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth is more than 500 kOhm.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the accelerator pedal potentiometer and the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
