199003058 - 1060GT CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH OPERATION CHECK

STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Turn the ignition key ON.With the engine off and all electrical appliances off and the clutch pedal not activated, check that the clutch pedal is Released.Under the same conditions, the clutch pedal must be Depressed with the clutch pedal activated.The test can be considered overMove on to Step 2
2Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the clutch pedal switch.Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage across pin 2 (wiring side) of the switch wiring connector    See I031 CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH and Earth, checking it is greater than 11 VMove on to Step 7Move on to Step 3
3Turn the ignition key OFF.In the Body Computer, remove fuse F22 from the base unit (fourth in the right hand row), checking whether it has blownRepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the Body Computer and clutch pedal switch    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
4Fit a new fuse F22 and check it does not blow.Move on to Step 6Move on to Step 5
5Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the brake pedal switch.Fit a new fuse F22 and check it does not blow.Repair or replace the electrical wiring between the body computer, brake pedal switch, clutch pedal switch and engine control unit.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
6Continue as instructed in the    See Test 5550DA BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH OPERATION CHECK
7Measure the voltage across pin 4 (wiring side) of the switch wiring connector    See I031 CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH and Earth, checking it is less than 0.3 V.Move on to Step 9Move on to Step 8
8Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the cable loom connector from the engine management control unit connector A.Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage across pin 4 (wiring side) of the switch wiring connector    See I031 CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH and Earth, checking it is greater than 0.3 VMove on to Step 10Move on to Step 9
9Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the brake light switch.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered overReplace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
10Check that the clutch pedal is Released.Replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
11Connect a shunt cable with a fuse between pin 4 of the switch wiring connector (wiring side)    See I031 CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH and the battery positiveCheck that the clutch pedal is DepressedMove on to Step 9
12Replace the clutch pedal switch    Op. 1060D42 SWITCH ON CLUTCH PEDAL- R. R (DIESEL ENGINES)
