Proceed as follows on the injector presumed to be faulty.
STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from engine control unit connector BTurn the ignition key ON.Check that the resistance between Earth and:- Pins 16 and 47 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 1- Pins 17 and 49 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 2- Pins 31 and 48 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 3- Pins 1 and 46 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 4is less than 0.3 V    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
2Turn the ignition key OFF.Check that the resistance between Earth and:- Pins 16 and 47 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 1- Pins 17 and 49 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 2- Pins 31 and 48 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 3- Pins 1 and 46 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 4is greater than 500 kOhmsMove on to Step 6    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Move on to Step 3
3Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the injector.Check that the resistance between Earth and:- Pin 16 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 1- Pin 17 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 2- Pin 31 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 3- Pin 1 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 4is greater than 500 kOhms    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
4Check that the resistance between Earth and:- Pin 47 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 1- Pin 49 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 2- Pin 48 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 3- Pin 46 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 4is greater than 500 kOhms    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
5Replace the injector    Op. 1060F10 FUEL INJECTORS - R.R. The test can be considered over
6Check that the resistance across:- Pins 16 and 47 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 1- Pins 17 and 49 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 2- Pins 31 and 48 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 3- Pins 1 and 46 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 4is between 0.3 and 0.7 OhmsMove on to Step 11    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Move on to Step 7
7Check that the resistance across:- Pins 16 and 47 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 1- Pins 17 and 49 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 2- Pins 31 and 48 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 3- Pins 1 and 46 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 4 is less than 0.3 Ohms.Move on to Step 10    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Move on to Step 8
8Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the injector.Check that the resistance across pin 2 (wiring side) of the injector and:    See N070 INJECTOR - Pin 16 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 1- Pin 17 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 2- Pin 31 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 3- Pin 1 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 4 is less than 5 Ohms    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
9Check that the resistance across pin 1 (wiring side) of the injector and:    See N070 INJECTOR - Pin 47 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 1- Pin 49 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 2- Pin 48 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 3- Pin 46 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 4 is less than 5 Ohms    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Move on to Step 5Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
10Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the injector.Check that the resistance across:- Pins 16 and 47 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 1- Pins 17 and 49 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 2- Pins 31 and 48 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 3- Pins 1 and 46 (wiring side) of the control unit for injector 4 is greater than 500 Ohms.    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Move on to Step 5Restore the engine control unit wiring    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT If necessary, replace it    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
11Carry out a visual check on the condition of the injector and connector pipes to ensure it is OKReplace the faulty component
12Replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
