199002118 - 1020A CRANKCASE OIL SUMP

CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

The crankcase oil sump is a structural part of the engine with mechanical functions which has the task of containing the engine lubrication oil.It is made from pressed steel and includes the threaded port and plug for draining the engine oil.A bead of silicon sealant produces the seal with the crankcase. There is a bulkhead between the crankcase and the engine oil sump which, in addition to preventing the engine oil from splashing around (due to the movement of the vehicle), guarantees that the level remains constant cyclically removing the flow of excess engine oil to the connecting rod caps.
