199000010 - E3020 WINDSCREEN WASH/WIPE - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

A single signal (earth) is sent from stalk unit H5 to Body Computer M1, which manages all the windscreen wiper commands: from pin 7 of H5 to pin 54 of connector D of M1; the signal is coded via resistance dividers so that multiple information can be sent via a single connection from the stalk unit to the Body Computer. A reference earth reaches pin 10 of H5 from pin 34 of connector D of M1.Similarly, the windscreen washer commands are sent from pin 5 of H5 to pin 55 of connector D of M1.Body Computer M1 - connector G - is supplied directly from the battery from a line protected by maxifuse F2 of engine compartment control unit B1. It is supplied by an ignition-operated supply (INT) at pin 32 of connector D; pin 10 of connector H of M1 provides the Body Computer with a reference earth.According to the function selected, Body Computer M1 sends the following control signals to the wiper motor N15:- from pin 16 of connector E for fast operation;- from pin 32 of connector E for slow and/or intermittent operation,- pin 22 of connector A on the other hand, receives the earth signal coming from the motor end of travel cam which stops operation. The windscreen wiper motor N15 is then earthed.Body Computer M1 sends two signals from pins 3 and 14 of connector E, which operates the pump of windscreen washer N22, which turns to send washer fluid forward to the windscreen wiper. The supply line from the pump is protected by fuse F42 located on Body Computer M1.Rain senor K85 is supplied from the INT line of Body Computer M1 - pin 7 of connector E and sends an automatic operation signal to pin 35 of connector A of M1 via the A-BUS serial line. The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the failure signal if there are problems with the rain sensor.
