199001220 - E2012 MAIN BEAM HEADLIGHTS - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

A single signal (earth) is sent from stalk unit H5 to Body Computer M1 to manage the high beams in fixed and flashing mode: from pin 2 of H5 to pin 37 of connector D of M1; the signal sent is coded through various resistance partitions so that multiple information is sent to the Body Computer via a single connection. The reference earth reaches pin 10 of H5 from pin 34 of connector D of M1.IBody Computer M1 - connector G - is supplied directly by the battery from a line protected by maxifuse F2 of engine compartment control unit B1; it is suppiled via the ignition (INT) at pin 32 of connector D; pin 10 of connector H of M1 supplies a reference earth to the Body Computer. The Body Computer M1 controls the supply for the main beam headlamps sending an earth signal to relay T4 in the junction unit in the engine compartment B1 from pin 10 of connector A of M1 which energizes relay T4: this supplies the dipped headlamps F10 (left) and F11 (right). Each circuit is protected by a fuse in the junction unit B1 : F16 for the left headlamp and F17 for the right.Relay T4 is in turn supplied by relay T5 of B1: this is an "ignition-operated except during start-up (INT/A)" supply controlled from pin 1 of connector A of M1.The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the "main beam headlamps" warning light.
