199002856 - E5060 CRUISE CONTROL - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

The Cruise Control function is managed by engine management control unit M10 upon a request by Cruise Control system control built into steering wheel stalk unit H5.A single signal is sent from stalk unit H5 to Body Computer M1, which manages all the Cruise Control commands: from pin 8 of H5 to pin 41 of connector D of M1; the signal sent is coded through resistance dividers so that multiple information can be sent through a single connection from the stalk unit to the Body Computer. The reference earth is received at pin 10 f H5 from pin 34 of connector D of M1.Body Computer M1 - connector G - is supplied directly from the battery from a line protected by maxifuse F2 of engine compartment control unit B1. It is ignition-operated (INT) at pin 32 of connector D. Pin 10 of connector H of M1 supplies a reference earth to the Body Computer. The control unit M10 also uses the "pedal released" signals (N.C. contact) coming from the second brake lights switch contact I30 and the signal coming from the clutch switch I31 to manage the Cruise Control function.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT Engine management control unit M10 connects via the CAN line to the Body Computer and instrument panel E50 to manage the Cruise Control on warning light.
