199002149 - INTRODUCTION - EXHAUST PIPES AND SILENCERS

The engine exhaust gases flow through the exhaust manifold (1) to the turbocharger and then to the catalytic preconverter (2).There is a flexible element (4) in the front section of the exhaust pipe (3) to restrict the transmission of vibrations. The rear section of the exhaust comprises the catalytic converter (5) and two silencers (6) and (7). Special protections (8) limit heat radiation to the body. The various components are supported by means of supports (9) and flexible seals (10) fastened to the underbody.
