STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Turn the ignition key OFF.In the engine compartment junction unit, remove relay T7 (first from the top in the the left lower row)Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between Pin 86 of the base unit for relay T7 and the earth, ensuring it is less than 0.3 V.Move on to Step 4Move on to Step 2
2If faults are found, restore the wiring between the engine compartment junction unit and the engine compartment junction unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT Replace the wiring if necessaryThe test can be considered overReplace the junction unit    Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R. and move on to Step 3
3Check the fault disappears.The test can be considered overRepair the original junction unit and replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
4Measure the voltage between Pin 87 of the base unit for relay T7 and the earth, ensuring it is less than 1.0 V.Move on to Step 15Move on to Step 5
5Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the cable loom connector from the engine management control unit connector A.Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between Pin 87 of the base unit for relay T7 and the earth, ensuring it is greater than 1.0 V.Replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
6Turn the ignition key OFF.In the engine compartment junction unit, remove relay T6 (the lower one in the middle row)Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between Pin 87 of the base unit for relay T6 and the earth, ensuring it is greater than 1.0 V.Replace the glow plug preheating control unit    Op. 5520C20 HEATER PLUGS CONTROL UNIT - R.R
7Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EGR solenoidTurn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between Pin 87 of the base unit for relay T9 and the earth, ensuring it is greater than 1.0 V.Replace the EGR solenoid valve    Op. 1080C24 E.G.R. SYSTEM SOLENOID - R + R
8Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the built-in throttle body actuator.Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between Pin 87 of the base unit for relay T7 and the earth, ensuring it is greater than 1.0 V.Replace the built-in throttle body actuator    Op. 1060G50 THROTTLE BODY - R.R
9Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the brake pedal switch.Turn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between Pin 87 of the base unit for relay T7 and the earth, ensuring it is greater than 1.0 V.Replace the brake pedal switch    Op. 1060D38 SWITCH ON BRAKE PEDAL - R.R (DIESEL ENGINES)
10Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the battery positiveTurn the ignition key ON.Measure the voltage between Pin 87 of the base unit for relay T7 and the earth, ensuring it is less than 1.0 V.Move on to Step 12
11If faults are present, restore the wiring between the battery positive and the turbine variable geometry control solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT Replace the wiring if necessaryThe test can be considered overReplace the solenoid valve    Op. 1064B42 SOLENOID CONTROLLING TURBOCHARGER VANE POSITION ACTUATOR - R.R

13Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the cable loom connector from the engine management control unit connector A.Check the resistance between Pin 85 of the base unit for relay T7 and the earth is greater than 500 kOhms.Move on to Step 17Move on to Step 14
14If faults are found, restore the wiring between the engine compartment junction unit and the engine compartment junction unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT Replace the wiring if necessaryThe test can be considered overReplace the junction unit    Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R.
15Check that the resistance across Pin 85 of the base of relay T7 and Pin 72 (wiring side) of control unit connector A    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU is less than 5 OhmsMove on to Step 16Replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
