199001078 - 2110C54 GEAR SELECTION AND ENGAGEMENT UNIT - OVERHAUL WITH ASSEMBLY REMOVED

Removing ( Refitting ) 1. Remove the reversing light switch.2. Undo the nut (2a) and remove the gear selector outer control lever (2b).3. Remove the gear selector and engagement control lever complete with O-ring.
1. Place the gear engagement selector in the position shown in the diagram using the control shaft.
This operation is necessary to allow the extraction of the gear engagement flexible retaining pin.
2. Remove the flexible pin using a suitable drift.
1. Using suitable leverage, retract the bush and extract the safety element retaining circlip on the control shaft.
1. Release the control shaft (1a) complete with counterweight (1b).- Undo the bolts and separate the control shaft counterweight.2. Remove the gear engagement selector.
1. Remove the safety element complete with ball plug.2. Remove the bushes.3. Remove the reaction springs.4. Remove the oil seal.5. Undo the bolts (5a) and remove the mounting bracket (5b) for the safety element.
Refitting ( Removing ) 1. If the control shaft bushes (1a) and (1b) are worn, replace the cover assembly.
1. Fit the oil seal (1a) on the gear engagement assembly cover (1b) with grip (1c).

- Fit the mounting bracket for the safety element and secure it using the bolts.- Fit the bush and oil seal side spring.1. Fit the safety element (1a) so that the reference (1b) is positioned as illustrated.
- Fit the control shaft complete with counterweight, the gear engagement selector and the bush and reversing light switch side spring.
When refitting the shaft on the selector, ensure that the opening for the flexible retaining pin is aligned.
- Fit the safety element retaining circlip on the control shaft.1. Fit the safety element retaining circlip on the control shaft using a suitable drift.
1. Fit the gear selector and engagement selector control lever.2. Fit the gear selector outer control lever (2a) and tighten the nut (2b) to the recommended torque.
