Removing ( Refitting )
Before removing and refitting the window bag module the following preliminary operations must be carried out:
- Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and extract it;- Disconnect the battery leads and insulate them.- Wait for 10 minutes before continuing.

    Op. 5580C AIR BAG SYSTEM 1. Working at the front of the vehicle, use a drill to remove rivet (1a) securing the window bag module link (1b).
1. Working in the centre of the vehicle, disconnect the electrical connection.

2. Undo the fixing bolts (2a) of trigger unit (2b).3. Move the trigger unit (2b), undoing retainers (3a).
1. Use a drill to remove rivets (1a) securing blind (1b).2. Remove the window bag module assembly.
1. If necessary, drill out rivets (1a) and remove window bag mount (1b).
Refitting ( Removing ) - Observe the following precaution.
Handle the Air Bag module very carefully. Make sure that the battery is disconnected.
- If a new module is being fitted, position the labels. Remove the detachable part of the adhesive label from the new module and place it in the special folder containing the vehicle details (model, registration date, chassis number) and the serial number of the old module. The file should be kept for future checks. A new adhesive plate comes together with the module and should be stuck on top of the existing one. Beforehand, however, it should be perforated at the month and 14 years after the year in which the module is being fitted (e.g. 2005 for 2019).1. To secure the remains of the removed rivets that have been left inside the body box section (1c), inject a sufficient quantity of polyurethane foam (1d) through holes (1a) located under rivet holes (1b). Wait for the polyurethane foam to dry (for the waiting time, refer to product specifications).
- If removed, position the window bag mount and apply rivets.- Position the window bag module and apply blind retaining rivets.1. Position trigger unit (1a) and do up retainers (1b).2. Tighten the bolts.

3. Connect the electrical connection.
- Position the window bag link and apply the rivet.- After completing refitting of the various parts, use an Examiner to check that the system contains no errors.
