199000635 - 7010 PASSENGER COMPARTMENT REAR SIDE DOORS

REAR ELECTRIC WINDOWS

The electric window controls for both the front doors and the rear doors are located on the driver''s front door.
1 - Left rear window operation2 - Right rear window operation3 - Inhibition of controls from rear seatsOnly the electric window for the door in question is controlled from the two rear doors.
The button (3) manages the locking of the controls from the rear: the locking status is indicated by an LED next to the actual button lighting up and the rear control buttons are not lit up.The electric windows cannot be operated using any of the buttons when the lock function is activated.

Electric rear windows operation

The rear electric windows can be operated both manually and automatically, following the logic described below:- if the button is pressed is between 60 and 300 milliseconds, operation is manual. the glass goes up/down only with the key pressed;- f the key is pressed for longer than 300 milliseconds, operation is automatic: even if the button is released, the glass continues to move up/down until the end of travel position is reached or until the intervention of the anti-crush safety system (if fitted);- pressing the button again whilst the window is moving stops it in the position it is in;- if the button is pressed for less than 60 milliseconds, this is ignored (it is treated as an accidental knock). For the windows the window opening function is only activated with the ignition on, with the following exception: after a key off, the front windows can be operated manually or automatically for a period of 3 minutes. When this timed period elapses the system no longer acquires new commands. If one of the doors is opened during the timed period, new commands are longer acquired, but any commands received before the opening of the door are brought to a conclusion. If one of the doors is already open at the key off, any commands received before the opening of the door are brought to a conclusion.Centralized activation of windowsThis is a function that allows the side windows to be completely closed in a single operation. All the windows in the doors - even the rear ones - can be closed when the doors are closed by keeping the key turned in the closed position or by pressing the button in the remote control for a while. In the same way the windows can be opened when the locks in the doors are unlocked.
The activation of the centralized window opening/closing is not simultaneous for the 4 windows, but responds to a programmed sequence.

Anti-crush safety device

The anti-crush function ensures the reversal of the direction of the window any time the presence of an object is detected (e.g. a finger, hand, etc.) in the path of the window thereby preventing it being accidentally crushed. This function confers a high level of safety especially in there are any children on board who activate the windows accidentally. The super-opening and super-closing of the windows can be activated on leaving the vehicle. The anti-crush safety function is activated during both manual and automatic operation. There are two "inversion zones" and "non inversion zones" for the anti-crush safety system:ns- the "inversion zone" corresponds to the space between 200mm from the upper edge and the upper edge itself;- the "non inversion zone" corresponds to the remaining space. If the presence of an obstacle in the "inversion zone" is detected whilst the window is moving upwards, the system should interrupt the upwards movement and reverse it immediately. If, on the other hand, the presence of an obstacle is detected in the "non reversal zone", the system should only interrupt the upwards movement of the window. No type of command is accepted during this period.
If the anti-crush protection intervenes five consecutive times within a minute or is faulty, the automaic closing operation of the window is inhibited only allowing it in steps of half a second when the button is released for the subsequent manoeuvre.
In order to restore the correct operation of the system, one of the following conditions must be satisfied:- a key off - key on operation;- a downwards movement of the window in question made by the user. The anti-crush safety function is produced by means of a Hall effect sensor which detects overloading of the actual electric window motor: the intervention level is calculated when the force on the obstacle encountered along the travel of the window (e.g. a finger, hand) is more than about 7-8 kg.

Initialization

If the power supply has been disconnected, the following reset procedure must be carried out for the anti-crush safety function.- turn the ignition key to the ON position.- press the window closing button in "manual" mode (continuously) until the window is closed and keep it pressed for at least 1 second. When this procedure has been carried out, the anti-crush safety function and the automatic operation of the electric window are working.

Manually operated windows

On the LOW trim level the rear windows are operated manually using the special lever.
