Even if one of the functions signalled by the general failure warning light is faulty, the warning light in the instrument panel does not come on
The following functions cause the activation of the general failure warning light:- Inertia switch (FIS) operation- Windscreen wiper automatic operation not available- Parking sensor failure (if fitted)- Dusk sensor failure (if fitted)- Engine oil pressure sensor failure- Brake pad wear- Rain sensor failure (if fitted)- Exterior lights failure: side light, number plate light, rear fog lamp, direction indicator, brake light- Pollution filter blocked (JTD version only).

Carry out the following preliminary checks, in order:- Try and start the engine- With the igniton ON, check that the minimum engine oil pressure warning lights carry out the initial test and go out when the engine is started.- If the vehicle is equipped with a rain sensor, with the ignition ON, place the ring nut on the right steering column switch unit lever in the intermediate position and check that the windscreen wiper system carries out the operating check.- If the vehicle is equipped with a dusk sensor, place the ring nut for the left steering column switch unit lever in the AUTO position, cover the sensor and check that the dipped headlamps come on.- If the vehicle is equipped with parking sensors, engage reverse gear and check that the buzzer sounds.Move on to Step 11. The engine does not start in any circumstances2. The minimum oil pressure warning light does not carry out the initial test3. The minimum engine oil pressure warning light remains on4. The windscreen wiper is not activated5. The buzzer does not sound with reverse gear engaged6. The dipped headlamps are not automatically activated7. The windows do not detect the obstacle.1.
