Undo the bolt (1a) fixing the steering column to the steering box pinion (1b).

|  | To facilitate the final removal stage, turn the steering column towards the centre of the dashboard protected previously against any impacts. | 

|  | If the steering column is being reused, do not, under any circumstances, release the upper shaft.Therefore bind the moving parts as illustrated in the diagram. |
