Excessive force, sticking when the release lever is operated

1	RELEASE LEVER CHECK	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
		Test results
	Check for interference in the correct sliding of the release lever in its trim	Move on to Step 2	Interference of the release lever with the cover/upholstery during operation, the lever does not return to the rest position	Remove the plastic parts eliminating the interference (excess fabric/upholstery)

	Check that the alignment between the release unit and the slot in the plastic trim is correct	Move on to Step 3	Lever distorted, interference with plastic trim	Reposition the lever aligning it with the slot in the trim
3	CHECK ON THE BACKREST	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	After partly removing the upholstery in the lower part of the backrest, check the rivetting of the pin on the control lever and its condition (left and right sides)	Move on to Step 4	Excessive rivetting, pin locked, control lever broken	Replace the backrest assembly Op. 7045A18 FRONT SEAT BACKREST ASSEMBLY (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R.

	Check the following, in order:- the correct layout of the bowden control cable;- the correct attachment of the outer casing retaining clip on the backrest;- the condition of the release device in the upper area	End of diagnosis	1. Layout not correct2. Outer casing retaining clip not correctly attached/released at the backrest3. Release device in upper area broken/damaged (release lever)	1. Renew the correct routing of the control cables/outer casings2. Refit the clip in the backrest frame3.
