223002223 - E3080 HEADLIGHT ALIGNMENT ADJUSTMENT - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION (MY 2005)

The front headlamps are adjusted by means of two buttons on the left part of the instrument panel E50.When the ride adjustment buttons are pressed, E50 displays the number corresponding to the required position and sends a modulated voltage signal to the under-dashboard junctionj unit B02 via pin 6 connector A (for the Natural Power - 1596 16V BPW version - , pin 5 connector A).From here, the signal then leaves pin 1 connector A of control unit B02 for the headlamp alignment motors (pin 6 for the left headlamps and F10 and right headlamps F11).The correction motors inside the headlamps contain a transducer that estabilishes the travel to be completed on the basis of adjustment signal voltage. The power supply to the headlamp alignment system in the headlamps (front right F10 and front left F11) is taken from relay R1 in the under-dashboard junction unit B02 via a line protected by fuse F13.When the low beams are activated - pin 4 connector D - body computer M01 excites relay R1, which sends power to the two headlamp alignment motors from pin 2 connector A of junction unit B02 to left headlamp F10 and right headlamp F11.At the same time, a low beam activation signal is sent from pin 14 connector G of junction unit B02 to pin 7 connettore A of instrument panel E50 (for the Natural Power - 1596 16V BPW version - , pin 6 connector A).Instrument panel E50 and body computer M01 are supplied by an ignition-controlled supply (INT) via pin 11 connector E of control unit B02 and from the battery via a line protected by F1 of engine compartment control unit B01 that is connected to pin A connector C of the under-dashboard control unit.Pins 8 and 9 of connector D of the body computer are earthed.
