223003085 - E6020 AIR CONDITIONER - DESCRIPTION (MY 2005)

The vehicle climate control system is achieved through the duct/distributor unit and heater. The air conditioning system integrates the heater with the function of producing cold and dehumidified air achieved by switching on the compressor and the cooling system.The climate is controlled by means of three control knobs on the facia:- the centre knob controls the mechanical warm and cold air mixing flap;- the right hand knob controls opening of the flaps that govern air flow distribution mechanically via a cable.- The left-hand knob controls air ventilation at four different speeds by means of an electrical control; two versions are available: a three-speed version and a four speed version.The air recirculation lever and the air conditioner compressor pushbutton are located in the lower control area.    See E6021 COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENTThe control unit is lit with the side lights on.    See E2010 SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTSThe fan circuit is protected by a specific fuse and controlled by the passenger compartment air fan relay located in the engine bay junction unit.The fan can only be activated with the key ON.
