223001914 - E3030 HEATED REAR WINDSCREEN AND DOOR MIRROR DEFROSTING - DESCRIPTION
Description
The rear window and door mirror heater coils are activated by a button in the switch unit in the middle of the facia.The defrosting circuit is protected by a special fuse and controlled by a relay both located in the junction unit under the dashboard.The control is deactivated in two ways:
- MANUALLY: by pressing the button again;
- AUTOMATICALLY: after 20 minutes of actual operation, i.e. with the control active.
Automatic rear window heater element operation is dependent on the engine rpm signal. The activation/deactivation sequence is as follows:
- for the first 10 minutes the operation does not depend on the engine speed;
- afterwards, it depends on the operation of the engine, namely: if the engine speed is below 1000 rpm for ten seconds, the heated rear windscreen is switched off, otherwise, if the engine speed is above 1000 rpm, it remains on until it has been effectively working for twenty minutes.
