    Op. 1004D40 ENGINE - POSITION ON STAND AND REMOVE1. Disconnect the electrical connections (1a), (1b), (1c), (1d), (1e), (1f), (1g), (1h), (1i) and (1l).2. Undo bolts (2a) and remove the timing sensor (2b) from the housing.Open the wiring duct and remove the engine wiring.

1. Remove the intake manifold complete with injectors and throttle body.2. Remove the bracket (2a) acting on the nuts (2b).
1. Undo the bolt (1a) and remove the engine oil dipstick.2. Remove the timing drive belt upper guard (2a) and lower guard (2b).3. Release the electric cable for the rpm and T.D.C. sensor from the fastenings on the timing belt protective covers and remove the rpm sensor.
1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the auxiliary drive pulley on the crankshaft.
1. Loosen the moving timing belt tensioner nut.2. Remove the timing belt.
1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the tappet cover (1b) complete with gasket.2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the cylinder head (2b).3. Remove the cylinder head gasket.4. Remove the two locating dowels.
Turn the engine on the overhaul stand.1. Undo the nuts (1a) and bolts (1b) securing the oil sump to the crankcase.2. Using the tool (2a) cut the silicon sealant along the entire perimeter of the oil sump.
