Removing ( Refitting ) Place the vehicle on a lift.Open the bonnet lid and disconnect the negative battery terminal.1. Undo the bolt fixing the lower steering column shaft to the pinion on the power assisted steering box; place the lower steering column shaft to one side.
Before removing the steering column from the power assisted steering box, ensure the front wheels are straight.
    Op. 4450B12 FRONT WHEELS (TWO) - R.R..1. Undo the bolts fixing the gear selector and engagement transmission cables mounting bracket.
Raise the vehicle on the left.    Op. 7055B54 PROTECTION/GUARD UNDER ENGINE - R.R..1. Place a suitable container under the vehicle to collect the fluid, then disconnect the pressurized fluid supply pipe (1a) on the steering box from the pump and the fluid return pipe (1b) to the tank.2. Release the pipes from the retaining band.
1. Undo the nut securing the track rod end balljoints (left and right).2. With the help of the tool (2a), remove the track rod ends (2b) from the housings in the steering knuckles.

Release the exhaust pipe from the flexible retaining blocks and disconnect the pipe from the catalytic converter.Carry out    Op. 1076B10 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY - R + RPosition a hydraulic jack under the gearbox and ease off the weight of the power unit.3. Undo the bolt fixing the power unit lower reaction rod to the front suspension crossmember.4. Undo the bolt fixing the lower reaction rod for the gearbox side power unit assembly.
To extract the bolt, manually rotate the power unit pushing it slightly forwards.
5. Remove the lower reaction rod for the power unit.6. Undo the bolts securing the power assisted steering box to the front beam.
Carry out    Op. 4130B40 SUPPLY PIPE FROM PUMP TO POWER STEERING BOX - R.R.Rotate the power assisted steering box downwards to release the power assisted steering box pinion from the opening in the bodyshell.Move the power unit towards the front of the vehicle, placing a wooden mounting in position to create the space required for extracting the power assisted steering box.1. Move the power assisted steering box towards the timing side and extract it from the centre of the vehicle, between the crossmember and the differential housing.
Refitting ( Removing ) Fit the power assisted steering box in its housing, passing it between the front crossmember and the differential housing.Rotate the power assisted steering box and insert the steering box pinion in the special opening in the bodyshell.Tighten the bolts fixing the power assisted steering box to the front crossmember to torque.
