2585355 - 5040B Check on operation of air conditioning system (pressures)

Basic operation
The test must be carried out at an ambient temperature of between 20°Χ ανδ 30°Χ.
Close all the doors and windows.Set the gearbox to neutral.Connect the recharging device to the air conditioning system [5040A10] in order to read the low pressure and high pressure values.Start the engine and run it at a speed of 1250-1300 rpm.Set the temperature selector to the coldest setting.Set the fan speed selector to 2nd speed.Set the distribution selector to the 'front' position.Ensure the air conditioner is off.Activate recirculationCheck on both pressure gauges of the recharging system that the pressures reach the value of 5-6 bar (higher values correspond to external temperatures higher than 30° C).Activate the air conditioner.Check that within 1 minute the low pressure reaches 2.5 - 3 bar and 15 - 16 bar on the high pressure gauge.Wait for the engine cooling fan to come on.Check that the pressure reaches 1.5 - 1.8 bar on the low pressure gauge and 10 - 12 bar on the high pressure gauge .Once this pressure is reached, the fan should go off and the low pressure reading should return to 2.5 - 3.0 bars, while the high pressure reading should return to 15 - 16 bars (if ambient temperature is higher than 25° C, the fan may stay on all the time). If the pressures are correct, but the air temperature at the outlets is high.  See Test 5040  - See Test 5040C  -If low pressure is 4 - 6 bars and high pressure is 20 - 25 bars with a high temperature at the air outlets.  See Test 5040  - See Test 5040A  -
