Removing ( Refitting ) Place the car on a lift.Disconnect the battery negative terminal lead. Refitting ( Removing ) Reposition the heat exchanger pipe.Secure the coil to the mounting brackets.Secure the pipe to the lower edge of the bumper using the two retaining nuts for the mounting brackets.Using the rapid connector, connect the heat exchanger pipe to the section of pipe connected to the power assisted steering box.    Op. 7055B54 PROTECTION/GUARD UNDER ENGINE - R.R..Lower the lift.Connect the pipe to the reservoir using the retaining band.Fasten the pipe to the bodyshell using the retaining band.Fasten the power assisted steering box to the mounting bracket using the two fixing bolts.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the power assisted steering fluid reservoir to the mounting bracket.2. Remove the band (2a) and extract the fluid return pipe (2b) to the reservoir.Place a container under the reservoir to collect the fluid which comes out.Release the pipe from the retaining band on the bodyshell.
Raise the lift.    Op. 7055B54 PROTECTION/GUARD UNDER ENGINE - R.R..1. Disconnect the rapid connector for the return pipe on the heat exchanger pipe.
To disconnect the rapid connector, push the element (1a) to the left, whilst keeping the element (1b) in position, then extract the pipe.
2. Undo the nuts (2a) fixing the pipe retaining brackets (2b).3. Release the coil from the retaining springs and remove the pipe from the engine compartment.
Connect the battery negative terminal lead.Remove the car from the lift.Refill the power assisted steering system using appropriate fluid.

The power steering system is self-bleeding; to bleed, turn the steering wheel full lock left and right with the engine running and the vehicle stationary.
After bleeding the air, check the level of the power steering fluid again and top up, as necessary.
