2585253 - 7210B10 R.R. CENTRE PILLAR

Removing ( Refitting ) 1. View of part to be removed
Check if any of the connected parts are deformed by checking body alignment dimensions. Use appropriate measurement tools (reference rigs, templates or gauges).Straighten the body if necessary.1. Use a chamfering machine to reduce the weld spots on the edges of the central pillar.2. Use a pneumatic saw (2a) to cut the upper part (2b) of the pillar following the cutting lines shown in the diagram.3. Use a pneumatic saw (3a) to cut the lower part (3b) of the pillar following the cutting lines shown in the diagram.
1. Use a hammer and chisel (1a) to separate the trim from the frame, then remove the trim (1b).2. Use suitable pliers to remove the cut edges from the body.
Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Straighten the edges of the panel and grind them (1a) using a disc grinder (1b).2. Apply electro-galvanized paint to the edges affected by the welding.
Straighten the edges of the panel if necessary.1. Use a rotary brush to remove the corrosion-proofing around the edge of the replacement pillar reinforcement.2. Apply electro-galvanizing paint to the edges in contact with the vehicle.
1. Correctly position the replacement pillar reinforcement (1a) on the bodyshell and secure it using self-locking clamps (1b).Check it is properly aligned.2. Spot weld along the area showin the figure.3. Fill weld in the area shown in the figure.
1. Measure and trace cutting lines on the relacement central pillar trim.2. Cut using a pneumatic saw.

1. Correctly position the replacement pillar trim on the bodyshell and secure it using self-locking clamps.Check it is properly aligned.2. Seam weld along the areas shown in the figure.3. Spot weld along the area shown in the figure.4. Fill weld in the area shown in the figure.
Check that the welded parts are correctly positioned.Level the spot welds using a disc grinder.Use a rotary brush to clean the inner parts.Apply electro-galvanizing paint to the parts which have been ground.
When the work is completed, refit the elements removed previously.
