Removing ( Refitting ) Position the vehicle on a lift.Raise the vehicle.    Op. 7055B54 PROTECTION/GUARD UNDER ENGINE - R.R.1. Loosen the connector for the power assisted steering fluid pump pipe to gain access to the belt shield bolt.2. Undo the fixing bolts (2a) and remove the belt shield (2b) from the pump.
1. Loosen the front bolts (1a) and the rear bolts (1b) fixing the power assisted steering pump to the mounting and also loosen the micrometric screw (1c) for the belt tensioning device.2. Remove the drive belt from the crankshaft pulley and from the power assisted steering pump pulley.
Refitting ( Removing )
Check belt condition. In particular, check for tears, cracks, surface wear and dry or hard parts that could lead to loss of grip. Change the belt if one of these defects is noted.
Fit the new power assisted steering pump drive belt on the respective pullies.Acting on the micrometric screw, tension the belt, then lock the front and rear fixing bolts.1. Using tool (1a) check the belt tension (1b) is within recommended values.

If the value measured is within the recommended limits, tighten the bolts fixing the pump to the mountings to torque.

Fit the belt shield and secure it using the fixing bolts.

Tighten the power assisted steering pump connector to torque.
