2584783 - 4450C34 bearing of one front wheel hub, l/h or r/h - replace with pillar removed

Removing ( Refitting ) Position the hub steering knuckle assembly on the press, resting it on suitable plates to ensure it is flat.1. Remove the front hub (1a) from the steering knuckle (1b) using a drift (1c) on the press.

1. Position the front wheel hub in a vice.2. Move the bearing inner race away from the hub, using a chisel, to allow the extractor to be fitted.
When carrying out this operation, take the utmost care not to damage the front wheel hub.
1. Remove the front hub bearing inner race (1a) using a USAG 472/3 and USAG 472A/3 general type extractor or a similar tool fitted with a reaction component (1b).

1. Remove the front hub bearing (1a) from the steering knuckle (1b) using a press (1c) and a drift (1d).

Refitting ( Removing )
Check that the intenal surfaces of the front steering knuckle do not show seizure marks and that the arms have not been struck or are showing signs of breakage. If this is not the case, replace the strut.
1. Fit front hub bearing (1a) onto the strut using hydraulic press (1b) and fitting tool (1c).

Fit the front hub bearing circlip.1. Fit the front wheel hub onto strut (1a) using hydraulic press (1b) and cylinder (1c) with an appropriate diameter, supporting the bearing race using a drift (1d).
